Point-of-service License Sales

We're going electronic!

License transaction
With the 2014 licensing year, all Fish and Game license agents will issue regular N.H. hunting and fishing licenses using the automated system.

With the 2014 license year, the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department will begin issuing regular hunting and fishing licenses electronically. Licenses will be computer-generated and printed by the agent on regular paper, just like licenses purchased online or at Wal-Mart.

When the 2014 licenses become available in mid-December 2013, all Fish and Game license agents will issue regular N.H. hunting and fishing licenses using the automated system. Hand-written licenses will no longer be available after the 2013 license year.

As part of the change, in 2014, a $2 transaction fee will be charged per license form. This fee will go to the vendor for the automated system, Sovereign Sportsman Solutions (S3), to cover the cost of its operation, just as online license buyers currently pay a transaction fee.

Benefits of Going Electronic

Virtually everyone will benefit from this modernization, because the change will allow Fish and Game, which manages fish and wildlife in the public trust, to operate more efficiently and effectively by using technology that has been adopted nationwide with positive results:

  • The new system will give Fish and Game rapid access to license sales data and save on printing and shipping costs, since pre-printed license forms will not be needed.

  • Consumers will benefit because their license-buying transaction will be faster and easier. In many cases, their information will already be in the system and may not have to be entered. Agents will get helpful "prompts" to assist them during the transaction.

  • Administrative reporting will be much easier for license agents, as reports will be computer-generated, saving them time and effort.

Thank you for your patience as we make this important transition!
